DOWN ABOVE THE RIVER

Every night, the night watchman stands lost in thought at the parapet above the river. But he is not lost in it. Away from the city, where only the moon shines and no one else can get there, he keeps coming across everything that the city has spat out. Alone with himself, he thinks about his reality, which bothers him less on some days than on others.

The group "DIE SCHAFFNER" consists of the former members of the Mimosen Gabriel, Franz, Joris, Georg and Rafael. They came together in this constellation in 2016 in the project "Baustelle ICH" and together brought their first own piece called "ggf." to the stage.

It was immediately clear to the five boys that they absolutely wanted to realize another joint project. Then some of them left the city, went on further trips and began to build their lives in other cities. The desired joint project gradually faded into the background, time passed...

2018, 2019 and then 2020...!

Surprised by the first lockdown and the sudden free time, the guys seized the opportunity and arranged to meet in digital conference rooms to talk again after a long time. Together they looked for interesting topics, formulated different ideas about what they wanted to do and developed initial sketches. In mid-2020 the plans began to become more concrete...
