creation
The association was founded in 2012 from the theater youth club of the former children's and youth theater Thalia Theater Halle. The founding members included the young people of the theater youth club, their parents, supporters and the director of the group Michael Morche.
basic idea
The purpose of the association is to promote, develop and organize non-profit children's and youth theater work with the aim of a holistic perception and training of theater and cultural work.
There is a social consensus that engaging young people in theatre and actively playing is valuable, that it supports them in their personal development and in finding their own identity and that it imparts far-reaching skills. Through the medium and form of expression of theatre (play), children and young people are sustainably accompanied on their way to becoming self-confident, independent, reflective, responsible, socially and socially interested people; their empathy, their social skills, their resilience, their interest and their perception of people and their motives for action are strengthened. The participation of young people plays a crucial role in this.
professionalism
The professionalism of our theater education work is very important to us. Our directors are artistically and/or pedagogically trained, have many years of experience and have special skills in accompanying children and young people. They work in other artistic and/or pedagogical contexts and thus bring further experience to theater work with young people. They regularly continue their training in artistic, pedagogical and theater education workshops. There is a continuous engagement with the current discourses in the theater education landscape.
objective
The basic ideas for the actual theatre work result in the philosophy of participation, awakening interest, promoting curiosity about processes, entering into relationships, democracy, continuity, sustainability, transparency and skills transfer. One of our main goals is to create and establish a place in Halle for theatre work by children and young people, which enables lively discussion and exchange among each other (and with adults). We are convinced that all children and young people should have equal access to theatre, regardless of their background.
implementation
We give children and young people the opportunity to play theater, especially in "fixed" groups, and to be supported in their development over the years. The joint work is topic-oriented and deals with their real life and current events. In the ongoing theater work with the young people, our main concern is that they develop trust in one another through artistic activity, work together as a group, play together, discover their own strengths and develop self-confidence through this. To do this, we work with many games and exercises before a fixed text is even used. The process and the associated experiences are the focus. As the young people gain more theater experience, they pass on the skills they have acquired to the younger group members. We also encourage the participants in the theater groups to create their own artistic work: they can realize their ideas artistically in a self-determined and independent manner and rely on experienced mentors.
In addition to theater group work, we offer other formats such as workshops, holiday workshops, podcasts, digital formats and artistic laboratories.
Parents & Education
facilities
Theater (acting) has a positive influence on a successful school career and thus on the professional and private future prospects of young people. School and theater work towards the same goal of giving them skills, knowledge and experiences that they can use and develop later. They are given lasting skills to solve problems creatively and think innovatively. We attach great importance to the fact that the theater work is supported and valued by us, the parents and the teachers. The children and young people need the support and recognition of those closest to them.
artistic approach
We believe that the encounter of young people with art is of inestimable importance. That is why we want the theatre works to be of high artistic quality and to have an impact on the outside world. Our artistic approach is based on young people being proud of their theatre works, drawing self-confidence and trust from them, and learning to discover and appreciate their own strengths. In order for the works to be artistically successful, the theme and style of performance must be geared to the young people's abilities and interests, while at the same time they need a challenge and an external stimulus to help them develop further. We want the children and young people to appear on stage in a genuine way - not in a fake way! - which always means that the thematic discussion is a discussion of themselves and their own identity.
